Description:
SAIC is seeking a Java Developer to support soldier workforce transition programs and counseling systems based at the United States Army Human Resources Command in Fort Knox, KY. The candidate will use their experience in a broad range of Systems engineering principles to lead the execution and delivery of quality engineering services to the customer.
The candidate will be responsible for programming activities related to new development and maintenance of existing Java web-based applications. Works with higher level engineers and architect to perform a wide range of technical tasks. The entry level developer should have knowledge of object oriented programming, design patterns, database systems concepts, web development concepts as well are good written and oral communications skills.

Qualifications:
Completed Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or related field. Two years of additional general experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
Ability to work in small, rapid-development teams
Ability to learn from and leverage other team members' experience
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communications
Currently holds, or has the ability to obtain, a DOD Secret Clearance
Ability to obtain a Security
Certification before starting.
Technical Requirements:
One
year of software development experience with Java, JSP and/or MVC or with similar stack, including front end (HTML/CSS3/Javascript, jQuery, etc) and back end (SQL) programming of web applications
Experience with Eclipse/Netbeans or other Java IDE preferred
Experience with source-control systems, such as Subversion preferred
Experience with SQL Databases such as SQL Server, Oracle or Sybase preferred
Understands Software Development Lifecycle
Understands software design patterns/principles
Understands object oriented (OO) programming
Essential Non-Technical
Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communications
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
