TAD PGS, INC. is currently seeking a Technical Writer for one of our clients in Fort Knox , KY. Must have a Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain the Clearance. Must have at least an Interim Secret Clearance to start work.
Position Overview:
Under general supervision the ideal candidate will work with System Administrators and technical experts to: Write, edit, and rewrite manuscript copy for reference manuals, operations manuals, user manuals, and instruction manuals for computer operations, policies.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Produce high quality end-user documentation and procedures for a technical audience.
Produce Work on all phases of information development from information gathering, research, and interviewing, to writing and editing.
Coordinate with technical team to verify knowledge of subject in preparation for writing assignment.
Produce graphics and illustrations, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.
May be required to assist in preparation and layout of work for publication.
Ability to manage competing deadlines, will work with the program team to meet customer and business objectives, and ensure that the documents are delivered on time in a complete and accurate manner.
Be flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements.
Be responsive in communicating project status and timelines.
Participate in multiple level meetings and forums to ensure rapid, quality product development.
Prepare Standard Operating Procedures for existing and new processes.
Ability to anticipate issues and determine proactive measures avoid issues.
Willingness to learn and gain a deeper understanding of the information discussed among the technical team as a whole.
Analyzes internal or external customers'' needs, and determines equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems; May lead small projects for maintenance fixes and/or system changes.
Apply standard practices and also work with management to find solutions in the areas that improvements are needed.
Work through established channels to get buy-in and implement change, while maintaining an awareness of industry practices and standards.
Basic Qualifications Required:
Prior experience administering and configuring MS Project 2010.
Prior experience with entering projects and tasks into MS Project 2010.
Prior experience leading a large enterprise organization through the ITIL, ISO or CMMI certification process - preferred.
Previous experience working alongside the military is required in some fashion.
Must be able to obtain the Comptia Sec
certification and have it enrolled into the continuing education program before start.
ITIL certification required, ISO certifications also strongly preferred.
Must sign privileged level access agreement.
Skills/Abilities Required:
Must have a thorough understanding of the publishing process to include the ability to work with raw data and develop it into end-user documentation.
Excellent project management, organizational and planning skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet scheduled deadlines.
Excellent ability to work either in a team environment or individually when required.
