TAD PGS, INC. is currently seeking a Database Administrator III for one of our clients in Fort Knox , KY. Must have an active Interim Secret Clearance.
Position Overview:
Provides database support services to the application teams and technology division operations teams including the network management branch. Requires knowledge of SQL Server database management system on one or more operating systems with primary duties include database software installation, upgrade/patching, infrastructure management, and creation and support of application databases. Understands and applies database concepts such as database definitions, parameters, database component placement, reorganization, access methods and security definitions.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Supports thecapacity planning, operations, application developers and other teams on database performance and access issues and support.
Working knowledge of at least one database management system or a proven ability to learn new technologies and use that knowledge effectively.
Working knowledge of SQL Server application installation and SQL clustering.
Working knowledge of disaster recovery in an enterprise.
Working knowledge of performance tuning and capacity planning.
Working knowledge of SQL replication.
SQL Server 2008/2012 instance installation and configuration.
SQL Server 2008/2012 security implementation and management.
Transact-SQL for database management and general querying.
Full understanding of SQL Server backup and recovery procedures.
Experience working with large, highly available, and/or high-transaction databases.
Ability to coordinate, plan and manage complex technical solutions.
Required Skills:
Demonstrated ability to translate complicated business logic into database queries to facilitate calculations & reporting.
Strong analytical and structured problem solving skills.
Proven skill in designing relational and multidimensional data models.
Experience in a structured code release environment (code management, release management, versioning etc.).
Basic Qualifications Required:
5
years of comprehensive database experience, including at least 2 with SQL Server 2008+.
2
years experience creating database-based reports (preferably via SSRS).
Ability to define, track, and maintain the standard baselines and configuration sets of all managed and/or monitored instances and servers and implement industry best practices with regards to:
Resource allocation and monitoring.
Performance problem identification and resolution assistance.
Clustering, replication, and other high-availability techniques.
Data security and recovery.
Data and database health practices (DBCC CHECKDB, etc.).
Patch management.
System capacity planning.
Creation, configuration, and monitoring of SQL Agent jobs for database maintenance and backups.
An Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar degree from an accredited university (candidates without an appropriate degree will be considered if they exceed the above technical requirements by 3 or more years).
Solid understanding of industry standards and IT terminology, technical concepts, database administration principles and procedures.
Microsoft SQL Server.
Microsoft Visual Studio.
SSIS Development.
Auditing / manage security.
Assist in capacity planning and run integrity checks.
Developing and maintaining best practices and maintaining required documentation.
Perform requirement analysis and makes recommendations.
Use SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to perform ETL operations.
Create and test disaster recovery plan and ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms.
Possess or able to obtain a DoD IAT Level II IAT baseline certification (e.g. CompTia Security
CE).
Possess of be able to obtain a computing environment certification in accordance with DoD Mandate 8570.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer/Engineering and 3 - 5 years SQL Server DBA experience or related experience.
Working knowledge of IP networking, Windows server administration, XML, and Active Directory.
Strong customer service, organizational skills, knowledge of applicable DoD/Government policies and procedures.
Ability to work independently without direction from other project members.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
